WHERE IS KANDOVAN?
Kandovan is one of the villages of the Osko ,one of the cities of the East Azerbaijan province.
Main name of this village is (Gün doğan) which has changed by the years to Kandovan.
Kandovan is also a rocky village which has been built in the rock.currently there is only three villages on the earth, built by man in the heart of the mountain

And while the other two villages are vacant, nobody lives there if in the village of Kandovan, there are 117 families .The village also has water, electricity, mosque, Supermarket، Park buffet, restaurant also has a restaurant .The reason for building this village in the rocks, refers to fear of the Mongol invasion , Which people decided to build their homes in the mountains to escape the Mongol invasion.
KANDOVAN’ CLIMATE
Location in Sahand mountain slopes has created a great climate for the village. There are plenty of greenery and lush meadows in this village and most of people ‘ jobs is agriculture and animal husbandry.

The village is located on 60 kilometers southwest of Tabriz. The village dates back to 6 to 7000 years ago. The type of rock of this village is due to the melting of the remains of the volcano, as well as the human interference in nature. Stone structures with horizontal, columnar, conical and pyramidal shapes attract tourists’ attention.The type of these shapes is volcanic ash Due to the wind, snow and rain that Change the form to the beehive.
Diameters of walls of these houses are very thin as it cools in the summer and remains warm in the winter .The village is one of the national works of Iran and it’s registered in the UNESCO World list and every year 300,000 tourists visit of this village.
